The word of the day is "glissade"

| | Comments (7)

Once again I've been dwelling heavily on broad social issues instead of more, um, local... ok, extremely local sexual ones. So I'd like to point out that figleaf's official word of the day is "glissade."

Yeah, yeah, it's not exactly common sexual parlance -- its main meanings come from ballet and (of all things) mountaineering in snow -- but at heart it refers to a long, slow, graceful sliding motion. And I've been thinking about long, slow, gracefully slippery sliding motions all afternoon.

Specifically I was thinking about the perfect amount of lubrication for intercourse, that *almost* frictionless perfection with just a hint of clinginess... just barely enough so that soft flesh tugs briefly against soft skin when we pause, a quick, hidden kiss, before giving way to melting, gliding motion.

Glissading.

There's a kind of genital sex, not quite intercourse, where you pin the shaft of cock against his belly and between her labia and either he, or she, or both slide together and her clitoris can slither firmly against his spongy/ridgey underside. It's delightfully sensual -- something you can both watch, hear, and feel, especially when she's straddling him in bed or riding him while he's sitting. Lubrication is a must, of course, but when done well, especially after extended foreplay with mouths and lips and tongues that's not a problem at all. It can be marvelously orgasmic for both, especially when she controls clitoral pressure with the angle of her hips and he manages his own points of contact with rocking of his own.

Hmm. I've always loved doing that but I've never heard it given a name. I'd like to call that glissading but please feel free to use it in sentences, and acts, of your own.

Mmm. Glissading!

Oooooooooooh, dear figleaf! You've just described one of my absolute favourite things!
I've often wondered - worried slightly even - about whether it's good for 'him' as well as 'her' (me!). Very reassuring, thanks. And thanks for the new name for it, and permission to use it!

[Total permission to use it, Freebird, any way you want. And while I can't speak for everyone I think it feels absolutely marvelous. One other thing, it's not as easy for me to come that way as it is, say, for intercourse, but that's not exactly a liability since most women seem to be able to come quicker that way with a result that you can come closer to together. So thanks! --fl]

that really is a delicious activity and i think you've found the perfect word. just say 'gliiisssssaaaaade' you can draw that word out as long as you can the action it describes.

like freebird i sort of wondered if men enoyed it as much as i do. very nice to know so.

[Yeah, you can say it with the breathiest whisper and it sounds wonderful too. It's like it's not a dirty word but it ought to be. :-) Thanks, Lime. --fl]

Love the word and the picture... but I think my preferred word is frisson

[Even if it wasn't the word of the day, frisson is lovely. Thanks, Lushlyme. --fl]

Is it my imagination or is he smiling?

[Ok, I've tried to think of a better way to say it so I'm just going to say if that's what you're imagining then it's smiling. :-) Thank you, Kochanie. --fl]

I'm sold. I can't wait to try it. (Am I talking about 'glissade' or the photo? Well. That's up to you to decide, FL.)

[Thank you, Yearning Heart. --fl]

Wow. What a lovely find. Thanks to Sugasm for bringing me to your blog! And, yes, I agree that he is smiling...

[Aww, thanks, Vanessa! --fl]
