Twenty-five words or less

| | Comments (4)

Driving through downtown. Two businesswomen on the corner, plainly dressed, clearly strangers, waiting for the light. One checking out the other's ass with smokey-eyed intent. (25 words)

[Note: Even after a lovely Father's Day weekend I'm totally writer's blocked on about 17 half-finished... and maybe unfinishable... posts. It didn't help that I had 101 errands to run today either. On the other hand I realize it's been maybe a year since I've done one of my "what turns you on, in 25-words or less" posts and I did have an intriguing inspiration this afternoon. --fl]

For seven years my eyes had not seen and my ears had not heard the message your goodbye kiss sent straight through to my toes. (25 words)

This actually happened to me in 1988. A goodbye kiss (the only kiss) from a co-worker, a "pal". It knocked my socks off to realize what I'd had in front of me and didn't realize until it was too late. Best darn kiss I've ever had and I was moving out of state.

[Nice one, Cathy! Thanks. --fl]

He asked me to hit him, so I did. It left a bright red mark. Years later, I suspect he still masturbates to that memory. (25 words)

Yours and Cathy's were very sweet, so I hope mine's not too perverted.

[No that's great, P. Actually in a lot of ways it's perfect. First because it's something that turns you on and you said it in twenty-five words or less. Second because it really satisfies what I think is the erotic potential of the 25-words format in the sense that it completely communicates the bones of an erotic idea while leaving us completely free to let our own imaginations fill in everything else. And finally because your particular story speaks to one of the cool complexities of sex and especially BDSM sex: sometimes it's not what we're doing at the time that makes us hot, it's how we enjoy some things for the way they fuel our anticipation before, and our memories after. So thanks, I loved it! --fl]

The sound of your voice saying my name, intimately close yet miles away, like an ephemeral touch of your fingers on my skin. (23 words)

Hey, that was fun.

[Yeah, pretty cool huh? Nice one, E. Thanks. --fl]

I waited for our children to leave home so we could be just a couple again. But your heart went with them. Now I'm alone.(25 words)

Not very cheerful but it's all I could come up with at the moment.

[No, not very cheerful, LR, but a great use of the form. Thank you. --fl]
