Urban-legend/to-good-to-check-meme alert: Durex whoppers

The blogosphere is mildly ablaze over an alleged advertisement for oversized condoms that shows a woman's face with Band-Aids on the corners of her mouth with the text "Really big..." Implying, of course, that if you use need such a large condom you'll tear the corners of your partner's mouth. The ad's particularly disturbing because the model has that singularly vacant, neutral expression that's so emblematic of the "no-sex" class paradigm. (i.e. she's completely unaffected even when she's been sexually mutilated.)

Unfortunately for social commenters everywhere (including me) the ad is evidently a hoax or, more properly, a Photoshop mashup of an ad for Burger King hamburgers. (Though yes, even as a burger ad it's disquieting.)

Media4You from the Netherlands has the goods.
Update: Now Ads of the World has a link to the original Burger King ad [Thanks for the link Heather. And if that goes down you can probably Google up other references here. --fl]

Anyway, if the condom vendor didn't have anything to do with the ad then it's probably not necessary to contact them either...

...except, of course, to inquire why anyone really thinks they need larger condoms considering this.

Heh heh. Someone on a forum I frequent once made an astoundingly obnoxious comment about his penis size. This lead my partner to point out that if you can fit a condom over your head and blow it up to twice as big as your head using your nose (he has demonstrated this LOL), how the hell could you "need" extra large?!

It's just sad. Men with particularly large penises just get less sex due to the potential for pain. *shrug*

Good Wedensday morning to you, Figleaf !

If a guy is THAT big, I don't even want to see it in a movie, let alone think of taking it in my mouth !

Most regular condoms fit quite well on a man whose penis is large enough to cause intense pleasure - without any accompanying pain....

The Media4You link has obviously been over-used - it now says "spam is not appreciated"!
