Ways and memes

In comments to Jill's post about the "no-sex" class acolyte on Craig's list over on Feministe Marle says
You know, if it was true that “girls don’t like boys, girls like cars and money” then heterosexuality would have died in the 70’s. Seriously, if none of us really liked boys, then once we could get money and cars all on our own, we never, ever would have bothered with men again. But, since heterosexuality obviously didn’t die, then that meme needs to.
Seriously! Anti-feminist male fears about getting cut off have been going entirely unrealized for, what, twenty-seven, going on twenty-eight years *minimum?* That's a *very* long time for an unfounded fear to persist.
Also, can we just say that when even America Online gets it that feminist's partners have more satisfactory sex (something about how consent = enthusiasm + creativity + reciprocal interest) it's time for "that meme" to die but time to start calling out people who can't get over it?
Update: For instance Whatsername of The Jaded Hippy says
You see, to me, "anti-male" means, you hate men. I don't hate men! I fucking love men. I love fucking men, for that matter. I love their straight forward ways of speaking. I love when they look at me and I can tell they find me attractive. I loved the animated conversation with a very attractive new male which caused us to lean forward towards each other so noticeably that my husband (who by the way I also love) felt the need to yell out "hey are you two going to make out!?" I love when they are as irreverent as me, and when they can make me laugh. And I especially love when I can tell they are attracted to both my mind and my body.
...
But the fact that I recognize that there are men out there who are not my friends? That makes me anti-male? That I realize that patriarchy is a real thing? That we are not equal, and that there are men out there who rape, murder and abuse women on a regular basis, and in fact far too often...That makes me anti-male?
Where the hell does "anti-toolbag" turn into "anti-male?"

OMFG
I just came across your blog through technorati and was reading your two most recent posts and thinking to myself, "wow this guy and I are talking about the same topics recently, cool, he's gonna go on my blog roll or something"...and then I start reading this post and holy crap, my blog is quoted!
I literally blushed.
Anyway! Anti-toolbag turns into "anti-male" when a male toolbag realizes you're talking about him. Just look at my blog's comments from "Guyperson" :P
[And as of about an hour ago I'd added you to my blogroll too. Small world, eh? Thanks, whatsername. --fl]
