Children As Punishment

Sam Boyd of TAPPED, in a news roundup from last Tuesday says
Conservatives are flipping out because Obama said he didn't want one of his daughters "punished with a baby" as a teenager. It's the dumbest controversy since they said he was "throwing his grandmother under a bus."
"Punished with a baby." I love that wording because it's just straight-ahead pro-choice. It's also a direct, pro-choice-feminist slap at the conservative anti-choice hard-core who *really do* believe having children is all about punishing women for having Teh Sex, who *really do* believe the risks and discomforts of pregnancy and childbirth are the "wages of sin," and therefore believe that not just abortion but *everything* from sex education to contraceptives to emergency contraception to pre-natal care to subsidized health care to daycare to public education are all just ways for women to avoid "doing the time for doing the crime."
No wonder conservatives were flipping out, they *hate* that kind of language because it pretty much kicks straight through their various subterfuges.
