To be honest I usually shave in the shower after shampooing and washing everywhere else — that give me time to really soap up and soak the whiskers, which in turn makes for a much more comfortable shave.
This time though I played around first with a battery-powered electric razor and then with my regular shaving cream and blade razor.
Happy HNT (or Half-nekkid Thursday!)

Good grooming is definitely appealing. :) So how do you like the 'lectric shave?

There is some indescribably intimate about seeing a man shave. There's something perfectly vulnerable about seeing his chin all lathered up, his bare chest, upper arms...if there's a fetish for this - I think I have it.
Love the pics!
Happy HNT!

Love the pictures. I agree that there is something intimate in seeing a man shave.

Thank you for contributing to the beauty of men. There is nothing hotter than a clean-shaved face.

I find my electric shaver does a good job day to day but if I want a really smooth finish (for a special occasion say) it's back to the wet shave with razor. My wife always appreciates the difference. :-) Happy HNT.
[Yup. You actually can get a pretty close shave with an electric but it takes a heck of a lot longer, even counting for time spent getting in and out of the shower. So wet razors are great. Thanks, LR. And happy HNT to you too. --fl]

I agree with Thursday's Child: There is some indescribably intimate about seeing a man shave.
Brings back fond memories of watching my father shave when I was a child. I think what parents try to create for their children in the first decade of life is a sense of safety in which the child can encounter the world. In that sheltered time and place are the roots of our personal eroticism. Looking back, the act of watching my father shave was a wonderful introduction to male beauty and ritual.
Lovely photos, fl. You haven't lost your touch. ;-)
Happy HNT.
[Now that you mention it, Kochanie, it might even have been something you said, years ago, about men shaving that gave me the idea. *Someone* said it, anyway, and it finally percolated up. So thanks! --fl]

there's benefits to both sorts of shaving, but man electric is easier. I've always wondered if the men's razors that have like 25 blades and turny things are really worth the money, lol. Since I'm not allowed to try them out on myself ;)
[Hi Lilly. I know the satirical The Onion originally proposed the idea but those 5-bladed razors really are amazingly comfortable -- way, way more so than a three-bladed version and miles ahead of even the non-disposable versions of the old one- and two-bladed razors. For one thing it's almost impossible to nick yourself, and darn hard even to get razor burn. The blades last forever too (a month or more for me.) So yes, they're totally worth the money. --fl]

I love that last shot - the faces we pull when we're shaving, eh?
Happy HNT!
[Oh yeah! I remember reading, years and years ago, that because of all those faces we pull, men who shave have better muscle tone in their faces than those who don't. (They alleged the same for people who wear makeup.) Thanks, Ro. Happy HNT to you too. --fl]

What is it about a man shaving that is simply sexy??
[I'm not exactly sure, Dana. It's like... what's sexy for me about a woman getting dressed? I think it's because when we're doing those things we're not *trying* to be sexy, we're just being *us.* I'm pretty sure I'm not the only one who calls it "everyday erotic" but I think it's a great phrase. Thanks! --fl]
