I particularly like Olympia Manet’s weblog, Postmodern Courtesan. Olympia is an intelligent, thoughtful short-list/reference-only prostitute.

I particularly appreciate her discussion of how she became a prostitute, how she chooses and interacts with her customers, and what she thinks about her particular form of prostitution. She’s very professional in the sense that she respects her clients without glamorizing them, appreciates their qualities while acknowledging the nature of her relationship with them, and balances physical intimacy with solid personal boundaries.
She includes enough salacious details to remind us that prostitution is, after all, about sex. I wouldn’t really call it one-handed reading material, though it’s certainly erotic. There is enough, though, to make it clear that someone’s usually enjoying his and/or herself.
She also comments intelligently on other matters, though not frequently enough to make it a general-interest blog. She sometimes catches some flack from other sex-work bloggers but she’s fairly clear that her opinions tend to apply strictly to her particular situation and not to prostitution in general.
I’m happy to have her in my blogroll.
