Back sometime Sunday night or Monday morning. Sometimes you just gotta get away from all the wires and rely on woodstoves, kid’s sleds and hot cocoa.
Meanwhile I’ll be reading a lovely book by Betsy Learner called The Forest for the Trees — An Editor’s Advice to Writers and recharging my batteries.

"pounding, grinding, tempo, pace"
Those words fit this post very nicely, well at least the pic.
Hope you have a good weekend.
[I had a nice relaxing weekend. Thank you, Boo. --fl]

Have a GREAT(!) weekend. Play in the snow for me (we haven't had winter, really).
[Thanks, DN. It was cold, there was tons of snow around the cabin (old but plenty of it) and ice in the slow-moving parts of the river. And *sunshine!* --fl]

I'm glad to see you take the weekend off. You've been posting almost every day, which means you're doing a lot of reading before you compose each post. And you acknowledge every comment -- a gracious gesture IMHO.
Speaking of work, I would like to hear your thoughts on the trend of the 80 hour week, or let's just be generous and go with 60 -- that's what a lot of folks consider a normal work week. In my chosen profession there was no such thing as a 40 hour week, unless you were home recovering from major surgery. I used to tell the younger staff members that the long hours were part of their employee benefit package, they didn't have to pay for birth control pills or an IUD during busy season. The only nonpharmaceutical birth control technique more effective than an 80 hour work week is a wife or girlfriend in sensible shoes.
So maybe you could have a post entitled "Real Adult Abstinence."
Once again, thank you for the lovely photo. Such a pleasant break from working on my taxes...
Kochanie
[Hey, I think sensible shoes are hot. (I know it's unreasonable but I always worry people in high-heels are going to break their ankles. The good news is it makes me want to sweep them off their feet, lay them down on bed, sofa, or divan, slip off their heels, and massage their feet. For their own good of course!) As for 80-hour weeks, I used to work at a tech company where that was considered *half time!* It's actually a surprisingly poor birth control method though. On one very long project I was on every woman on the team wound up having a baby before we shipped the product. They jokingly said it was the only way they could get a break. Thanks Kochanie. --fl]
