AlwaysArousedGirl illustrates each of her posts with a photo she takes in her garden.
I was out the other night as it was snowing, looking for an HNT photo opportunity. This was before I got the brainstorm that led to this week’s HNT photo proper.
Anyway it was so beautiful out under our big Douglas fir with the snow laying lightly on the understory plants. If I’d had more time, and better light, and if the kids hadn’t been running wild in the street with their snow saucers I’d given them the photographic attention they deserved.
All the more reason to appreciate AAG’s photos.

Oh, and about the bare feet. Growing up in the foothills of the Great Smokey Mountains I often delivered my paper route barefoot through November. I think old habits just die hard.

Cool! Thanks, Figleaf!
You are so right that it takes a lot of work to get decent shots and it can't be done with children present.
[Well, stolen photos (like stolen kisses) can be sweet but yeah, the least interruption can spoil the mood. Thanks, AAG. --fl]

Your feet look like they have been confined recently.
Like the contrast of the deep green leaves with the snow.
[I think they were mostly just cold. Trying to grip the sides of the little berm I was standing on too. I think the flash flattened that out. But yeah, I should have put more of the focus on the snow on the rhodies, hardy grasses, and epimedium. Thanks, Five. --fl]

yes, i am known to walk barefoot out to the mailbox in the dead of winter...but stilll, the snow on the nether regions is still astounding!
[I think the trick to stuff like nether regions in snow is remembering that for all the lovely things we can do with them, and all the tender *feelings* we have for them, they're still flesh and blood. And our flesh and blood -- even our nether flesh and blood -- is stunningly resiliant. :-) I'm not saying you *should* do it, but I am saying you could. Especially if you can do the mailbox run barefoot -- which is pretty cool, Lime. --fl]

It's sad that it's warmed up so much. The snow is so pretty while the mush leaves something to be desired. I took a lot of pictues but only have myself looking like the Stay Puff guy :) If we get more I may need to try something more interesting though ot the naked sitting!
