Oh this is just silly but the foolish tune is stuck in my head.
Answering Julie of What’s your pleasure?, who asked everyone how they masturbate, the words
“you put your right hand in
you pull your right hand out
you put your right hand in
and you shake it all about
you do the hanky-panky and
you shake your hand about
that’s what it’s all about”
Sigh. Hanky-panky, hokey-pokey, whatever. I might have spent more time at the rink if I didn’t hate that song so much. On the other hand it’s not like I didn’t find other kinds of recreation when I stayed home.
There’s a theory that the only way to get rid of a song that’s stuck in your head is to start humming another one that’s worse. What can you do when you get the worst song stuck in your head? Sing it to someone else. Apologies to all, but I’m desperate.
[To compensate I’ve found some illustrations. Check “read more,” below. —fl]

Oh my...*thump*
[Quick! Mouth-to-mouth resuscitation! :-) Thanks, X. --fl]

Yes, I'd kiss right up that curve on your inner thigh.
Just so long as you'd keep on pointing that gun in your pants toward my lips.
Did I just say that out loud? Oh dear...
[Oh for goodness sakes! That''s not a pistol, I'm just happy to see you. :-) Thanks, AAG. --fl]

Thanx for the breif trip down memory lane! Ah... the skating rink. Man those were the days. Rollerskates, cute boys, red rope licorice and Red Light/ Green Light! lol
[Yeah, they were something else. In my town it was an ice rink (in the south, no less, which made it doubly exotic) but same thing. The (pre-Disco) "snowflake" balls, the chintzy music... unlike rollerskating you pretty much had to wear too many clothes to make out properly afterwards though. Thanks, Pandora. --fl]

Haha
I've found that the trick is to spot the familiar words in someone's post and drift your eyes past them without actually reading them. ^_~
Your evil plan has been foiled dear Fig!
[As long as you didn't skip past "read more" and thus miss the key element. :-) Which, according to my server logs an awful lot of people are doing. People usually pounce on that button. --fl]

My friend Sue says that "Amazing Grace" is a cleansing song. Sing it, and it will scour the nasty stuck tune out of your head. My other standby is "Mystery Dance" by Elvis Costello, which is, come to think of it, more on-topic:
So both of us were willing but we didn't know how to do it...
[That's good to know, N. Anything beats risking the emergency "Muscrat Love" antidote. :-) Thanks. --fl]

Oh my. Thank you for my new desktop wallpaper. Sexy, sexy desktop wallpaper.
[Hey, and you don't have to put a figleaf over these. I'm glad you liked them, Avatar. Did you prefer the right (actually left, I realized too late) hand in or the right hand out? Thanks. --fl]

I use "Yellow Submarine" to get rid of songs I hate. Works surprisingly well. And you're right, absolutely anything beats Muscrat Love. Oddly enough, I mentioned the hokey pokey in my last post too. Funny old world. I like the left hand in. Prefer both hands in actually... Muscrat Suzy and Muscrat Sam... oh, blast.
[Thanks, KT. --fl]

the hokeypokey....I'd rather have THAT song in my head than Honkytonk Badonkadonk!!! Don't get me wrong, I love Trace's music, but someone was on some SERIOUS drugs when they thought that was a quality tune! More hokey than the one you're trying to forget!!
However ... I must say that the distractions you have provided this morning are so well worth the fact that now I'll be trying to teach the horses the hokey pokey at the barn today!!!
Right or left hand, figleaf, it all looks fantastic to me!!!!
[Thanks, Rhia. --fl]

OHBABY!! Those photos are from my favorite photoset of yours. Damn...I'm drooling....
[It seemed appropriate for a week when everyone was talking about masturbation. Thanks, Mona. --fl]

Lol - (wait wait, not at you silly!) - I'm just echoing all the above and laughing because my first reaction was hoping to see a little more flexing forearm sweating the job ... did I just say that outloud? Sheesh. Running away now.
[Wow, Katy, that's so cool to know that works for you. Several people have mentioned liking men's forearms in other contexts. Thanks so much for saying something about it in this context. I guess it's ok to run away but come back soon. --fl]
