Vanessa Valenti of Feministing says
Our girl Phyllis Schlafly contended at the conservative conference, “How To Take Back America,” this weekend:
I submit to you that the feminist movement is the most dangerous, destructive force in our society today. [...] My analysis is that the gays are about 5% of the attack on marriage in this country, and the feminists are about 95%. [...] I’m talking about drugs, sex, illegitimacy, drop outs, poor grades, run away, suicide, you name it, every social ill comes out of the fatherless home.”
She was later presented with the “American Hero of the Century” award, in which Mike Huckabee stood up and said “God bless you – and God bless Phyllis Schlafly most of all.”
You know she’s not talking about “radfems.” Well, actually technically since she’s one of the coiners and propagators of the term she is. What I mean is she’s not talking about the tiny fraction who think Mary Daly — the transphobic, racist, and (worse) gender-essentialist who refused to teach men who enrolled in her college courses — is just the bee’s knees. If you’re still reading four paragraphs into this post then Schlafly’s talking about you.

Does she include herself? Its funny how I don't see her and other high powered conservative women as Suzie homemaker. A gingham apron over those Brooks Bros. suits?

This is one of those things where I simply go "wuh huh do what now?" until I remember these people have a different definition of "attack" (and for that matter, arguably, "marriage") than most folks.
I really struggle to process it.
My only real point in posting a comment is that the reCaptcha came up as "condolences soulless" which strikes me as spectacularly appropriate...

That's a problem with politics in general in the U.S. - for a lot of key words which get thrown around, the left and right have vastly different definitions of them. And sometimes, neither of them match the common dictionary usage. Or else one or both side(s) use the word like normal but attach a lot of expectations, sentiments, and/or emotional baggage that isn't held by the general public. As a result, both sides do not understand each other at all and consider the other side to be insane and/or evil. Whereas the people in the middle are mostly just confused.

Feminists hate fatherhood. WTF?
I personally thank feminism for allowing my father to work a flex-time "mommy track" job where he got up at 4 AM in order to put in an eight-hour work day before picking me up from school. I thank feminism because it allowed him to pursue stay-at-home fatherhood and eventual boat-bum-hood. I'd be even happier if feminism had, when he was younger, insured that his mom had taught him how to cook so we would have had more than five possible dinners on weeknights.
And, yanno, I somehow managed to be suicidal, get poor grades and have sex at various points in my teenagerhood with one of the most involved fathers possible. Odd, that. Can't imagine why.
